She’d been naive about a lot of things. Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Summary:

But her escape has dire consequences when she learns the scorned clan has sent an assassin after her.

Now Ananna and Naji are forced to become uneasy allies as they work together to break the curse and return their lives back to normal. Or at least as normal as the lives of a pirate and an assassin can be.(

Review:

I went into this book with honestly little thoughts of how the situations in the book would play out, but kept an open mind for the most parts.
When I you first started, you find out Ananna is a pirate and runs away from her arrange marriage. With the people who were supposed to be her future mother\father – in law, send an assassin after her.  With this being said she goes on a journey and tries to avoid the assassin and stay hidden as much as possible. Unfortunately, he does find her which is kind of expected in this book, but what you don’t expect is when Ananna saves his life and since he saved her he must protect her from all harm’s way.
This is really funny because they hate each other and they don’t bother hiding it. I was laughing sometimes because I honestly wanted them together after a while. Now both of them are trying to stay under the radar. They go on an adventure to try to rid him of this curse because let’s face it who wants to be with someone you dislike for so long.
This book had its ups and downs for the most part I really enjoyed watching Ananna & Naji’s chemistry grow and blossom. I thought it was really cute to watch two people who dislike each other go to being friends and working on the same team to reach their common goal – to get rid of each other. The one thing I disliked about this book was most things were really predictable for me. Nothing really surprised me into shock like some books do to me. However, I did like this book and I think you should read this book if you want to read a short, fun-filled, and adventurous read.

Review

Hmm.. Have I so been on a contempary kick lately and I honestly have no clue why. All I can say is that I have really been enjoying them though. I bought this book a couple of weeks ago. Wow! This book hmm…
Samantha is really smart and does everything her mom tells her, but she is really curious as to what life is like besides how her mom has raised her and one day Jase comes over from next door. Omg from that moment on I was laughing and giggling and flipping pages just to get to the parts that he was in. It was so hard to do work in school and still try to read in between.
Samantha is really good girl, exactly how I am. Do what your parents tell you, work hard in school and get good grades to go to college. I really related to that aspect of her life. Her mom’s a politician and in my opinion has OCD. I mean come on who vacuums their carpet every day! She doesn’t like the Garrets because their normal-ish.  (Jase’s family) I mean things like leaving toys in the yard, and not keeping a garden makes them crazy. So, she doesn’t want Sam to hang out with her kids. Oh and Sam’s mom doesn’t like that she has too many kids. Seriously the Garrets if I do say so I turn out to be the nicest people ever!
Moving away from the subject of her mom, Jase’s mom and dad were so nice to Sam. Like seriously all Jase’s mom ever tried to be was nice to sam’s mom. Also, all of Jase’s siblings were so cute and lovable especially George and Duffy. George was so smart for being a little kid and Duffy was just kind of funny with all her boy troubles in the end.
Jase was an animal lover and that was so super cool of him. Plus he was so considerate and a gentleman. *Fangirling much I know. I am so glad they found each other because they really understood each other and were just perfect! Jase and Sam = another perfect YA couple. Sigh, how much I loved them. Jase did things for her that was so sweet and I was smiling every time he did. They really survived the ultimate challenge.
Sam really had to make a tough decision and I’m glad she made the one she did because I was yelling in my head and flipping out at her mom. Like seriously? This book literally is interesting and then takes the weirdest, shocking turn ever! Like seriously did not see that coming! How does someone….I don’t want to say it because I don’t want to spoil it, but it really took a nice in a way, crazy turn. Then again, that crazy turn brought everyone close and I like how it did that. Jase and Same really get each other and that’s what I liked about them so much. I was routing for them every step of the way.
Honestly this book was filled with twist and turns every step of the way. It was just all around flipping amazing! Everything was put to the test to see if it can withstand and all the characters in the end had some kind of development even Sam’s mom took a turn and finally woke up and realized reality.
There was not one time where I wasn’t completely shocked, happy, sad or raged in class trying to do work, but was so full of emotion. I can’t even remember what I was working on while reading it.  I recommend this book HIGHLY and with the elections coming up it’ll be a great time to read it, so be sure to go and read this book soon!

Publisher: Farrar, Straus & Giroux
Release Date: July 3rd 2012
Summary:

But then again, they’re not supposed to crash brand new Mercedes convertibles into convenience stores on Sunset Blvd either.

Which is why, on Lexi’s eighteen birthday, her ever-absent, tycoon father decides to take a more proactive approach to her wayward life. Every week for the next year, she will have to take on a different low-wage job if she ever wants to receive her beloved trust fund. But if there’s anything worse than working as a maid, a dishwasher, and a fast-food restaurant employee, it’s dealing with Luke, the arrogant, albeit moderately attractive, college intern her father has assigned to keep tabs on her.

In a hilarious “comedy of heiress” about family, forgiveness, good intentions, and best of all, second chances, Lexi learns that love can be unconditional, money can be immaterial, and, regardless of age, everyone needs a little saving. And although she might have 52 reasons to hate her father, she only needs one reason to love him.

Review:

Where do I start off with this book? This book definitely caught my attention. I actually won this one from a fellow book blogger. When I got it I was so excited because I think it’s safe to say once I started reading I just couldn’t stop and you will never read another book like this.
Lexington is let’s face it, she was a bit of a stuck up brat who just happens to have a trust fund and loves getting in trouble. Who knew that underneath that interior she had a heart? Once I started reading I was attached and routing for Lexington. I wanted her to succeeded and show everybody, you know hey I can do it look at me. Then she started slipping a little at the end, but in the end she did what was right and it warms my heart to see her as a character develop. She really learns what it means to be an actual person is.
My second impression was I was laughing sometimes at Lexington in this book. She tried to outsmart her dad and Luke. When she went to the grocery store I laughed when he caught her. Oh, speaking of Luke. Sigh. Another hot guy to add to my favorite guy in Ya huh? Seriously Luke and her made me laugh they would argue and I found it so freaking adorable for some reason and when they kissed I was just like NO WAY!! Seriously!? Then he pretends nothing happens and I was so disappointed. That’s okay though because I waited it out and let’s just say that ended all very happily if I do say so myself because her old boyfriend was a jerk.
He doesn’t even get a name because when she was concerned about just taking off with no money and if they ever broke up what she would do he just shrugged it off like I don’t care that’s why you better stay with me. Seriously what kind of decent guy does that? Then again, I guess that means he wasn’t a decent guy. He cared nothing, but about his self not Lexi! Selfish much and concede much?
Lexis dad, Hmm.. He is portrayed as a really horrible person in Lexi’s point of view, but then she actually gets to know him and why he was always the way he was like and it was really cool. I love how in the end he gets rid of that stupid women he was fixing to get married to! She was a gold digger sorry to say.. actually I’m not sorry to say because she married someone else right after. She was what was standing in-between them well besides a couple of other things, but getting rid of her took a step towards the right thing. Lexi’s dad also progresses and opens up.
What I like the most about this story is that every single character has character development – Lexi, Lexi’s Dad, Luke and even the boy she worked with (I forgot his name XD I loved him so much) This was just awesome heartfelt story about a girl coming to the concept of life and what it actually means to be a part of the world. Seriously I think I am attached! As soon as I read this I immediately went to look up Jessica Broody’s other books because I want to read them to.  BE SURE TO READ THIS ONE! It has got to be one of the best to come out this year so far in my opinion.
