 Review:

Kaiden! Kaiden! Kaiden, My head is still seriously screaming his name. Then again, how could you forget him? Sweet Evil has been one magnificent ride (story)! I decided to read it for the blog tour to help Wendy Higgins with getting more publicity so they might hurry up and make the decision on weither or not they are going to publish Sweet Hope. Which by the way, they really need to and I have to the pleasure of telling you why!.
At first, I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into when decided to read it. Fortunately I do now and so glad I took the time. Okay so characters. They were epic and amazing! They just kept coming each one bringing something different to the table and filling your need to have all these different personalities weither good, bad, strong willed, awesome heart or pretty much any other character trait you like to see. I also really liked the friendships. Jay and Anna have been friends for a good while and while when she finds out she keeps it a secret, but doing it for the goodwill of her heart to protect him since let’s face it she doesn’t even know what’s going on.
Kaiden! We are back to Kaiden?! Yes, we are because I am totally fan girling over him at the moment. No other character this year has been able to compare to him. He is just… Different and is okay with that. What makes Kaiden so fun and so exciting is that at the beginning he is very mysterious. I found myself wondering who the heck is this dude and why is he there. *Turns page and then many more. Then, you get somewhat to the bottom of the whole situation and the flirtiness is just ah.. Loved it. He is so sweet and while he wants to be loyal he is trying to decide is loyalty the best choice or is choosing to love someone worth more to him.
This plot, I really give props to her for this. She didn’t set up the plot before writing and just wrote and the results are just amazing. I wouldn’t change a thing because this was really a on the edge of a cliff waiting to fall off because you want to find out what the heck happens like seriously! Towards the end , the falling action\the resolution more specifically everything was almost settled while there were still the little problems that where just forming you think that it’s almost over and then BAM! Wendy hit’s you with another freaking cliff hanger at the ending.  Like this book never lacks in action, feelings and all that dialogue and characters you love. Oh and did I forget to mention high school to because there is a lot of high school in there, but a good drama kind.
I cannot tell you how wonderful this book is and quite frankly I am dying to read Sweet Hope. So I am really hoping that this blog tour creates enough publicity to finally get a set date and publish it because I will go insane. This was honestly one of my favorite books in 2012. So glad I bought it too J . My review probably doesn’t do this book justice because it is seriously just that great words can’t describe it! So if you ever get a chance to read this book let me give you some advice TAKE IT! Most amazing suspenseful, edge of a cliff, mysterious book you will ever read!

 Author Interview:

1.)What was your inspiration for writing Sweet Evil?

There wasn’t one particular thing I can pinpoint—it was really an
accumulation of everything throughout my life: relationships, experiences, books I’ve read, my spirituality, heartbreaks...just everything.

2.) Did you base a character off of one of your friends, family
members or old classmates?

No. Anna has some traits that I had at her age, but she’s definitely
way different than me in most ways. Some of my friends have pointed out that Jay reminds them of my
brother, Frank, and I can totally see that, but it wasn’t my intention. I will say that some of
the bad male characters *might* share names with ex-boyfriends of mine...

3.) Did you start off with a plot or just wrote as the story went along?

I did not plot or outline. I had no idea what was going to happen
next. I actually wrote scenes as they came to me, so I had a bunch of scenes, out of order, and I had
to piece them together. It was crazy, lol.

4.) Who would be your favorite character in the book?

That’s like choosing a favorite child! Impossible! They all have
things that make them special to me. Anna is a sweetheart, and I love her. My heart also swells for
Kaidan, because I know his back story—I know all the things he’s been through—his weaknesses, and
the strengths he hasn’t yet embraced. *sigh* I lurve them hard.

5.) Is there a character you relate to and could be best friends?

Anna for sure. But I also really relate to Veronica. In high school I
had Anna’s heart, but my behavior was more like Veronica’s.

6.) When writing did you ever think of having Jay wanting to be more
than friends or did you always know he was meant for someone else?

Even before I knew who Jay was meant for, I knew it wasn’t Anna. I
never saw them as anything more than friends.

7.) Was there anything you thought of before you started writing Sweet
Evil that you knew you wanted to have in this book?

Hm, not really. I didn’t go into this book with a lot of forethought.
The scenes started coming to me before I even really knew what is was about. But I had a lot of
epiphanies along the way.

8.) When you started writing did you know you were going to include a
love triangle?

No. My editor wanted me to enhance the love triangle a bit, but I
still couldn’t really do it justice, because even though Anna thinks Kope is an awesome and attractive guy,
her heart is with Kai.Kope was meant to be a means for some of Kaidan’s feelings to
show—when we see him get jealous it’s a satisfying moment.

9.) In the book they take a road trip to California; have you ever
been to all the states?  I found there were a lot of details to the setting. How did you accomplish that?

I’ve taken almost that exact cross-country route! (With my family, not
a hot guy.) I remember itall so vividly. While I was writing the story I did some research
about the towns they were stopping in, and the things they were seeing, to make sure I had my
facts straight, but I recall the feeling of those places very clearly.

10.) Would you like to include anything else?

I’d just like to thank you for having me, Gabby!

*I would like to thank you Wendy for answering my questions and having you it has been fun and I can't wait to hear news(Good I hope!) on the next novel in the Sweet trilogy.

Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

         Review:

Question to self why in the heck did I put of reading this for so long!? After reading Shatter Me I ask myself this constantly. This book has absolutely no words all kinds of words screaming in my head at me right now because there is just so many emotions running through my mind right now. I just can’t contain them.
First off, Juliette I am so proud of you! This book is why I love reading! In most books the female heroine always picks the wrong guy and wrong side! Thank you so much Juliette (And Tahereh) for not doing that and standing up for what YOU believed in that makes me so confident that if this world ever becomes like the world in Shatter Me and there is a guy like Warner or anything that will make me question what I already believe I will repeatedly say NO! Juliette is such a strong character! She never ever gives in! She stands up for herself all the way! I look at her and think wow. I really wish I could have the courage she has because let’s be honest even though I’d like to think I would like to be able to have the courage that she does if I was put in her shoes, but in actuality I would probably be the opposite.
I can’t help it! ADAM!!!! I am in love with Adam. Please become real. He really is the knight and shining armor! He helps Juliette find her way, helps her and believes in her. What more could you ask for in a guy? He respects her and even though they never talked in school he always wanted to. Aw.. I also really really love his little brother. He is just no words can explain it I thought he was cute and sweet. Oh and funny.
Ugh! So now to talk about Warner. How sick to go and kill one of your soldiers and right in front of everybody to. That is seriously sick and he shows no respect for anyone or anything, but himself. He is a stuck up jerk that I wanted to get the hell out of the story! He thinks him and Juliette will ever be together.. Haha please. Even though I do hate him I can’t help, but have a heart and feel bad for him because he has no one it seems like. This is why I think he is the way he is. I do feel bad for him, but I don’t think Juliette is the right person for him.
Okay how freaking cool is the ending!? Am I right? I mean seriously, never ever seen the ending coming. Taheri really knows how to right an amazing story. She knows how to use her words and the scratched out words of what she was thinking and wanted to say, but didn’t.. Genius. I really really appraise Tahereh Mafi for writing such an amazing story that keeps you on not the edge of your seat, but on the edge of a cliff waiting for more! She also makes you question your decisions on which characters you like and don’t. You never know your feelings towards a character in this book – her writing style does that! This by the way is what it feels like now waiting for Unravel Me. I must have Unravel Me soon! Thankfully it comes out around my birthday J

Seriously if you haven’t read Shatter Me yet what are you waiting for!? Don’t wait like I did If you have the book and if you don’t please just go get it from the library or buy it ( it is well worth a buy) and give it a chance it seriously deserves a chance.!

Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Tittle and Author
Series: If I stay
Pages: 264
Publisher: Dutton
Published: April 5th, 2011
Summary:
It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

 Review:

If I stay was a great book and really caught my attention. So I decided to try Where She Went and I am glad I did. I really did expect more from this book I had very high expectations and it just didn’t live up to my expectations. I really expected a lot more romance and fun flirty-ness of meeting the person you’ve longed to see again after 3 years of your life. A lot of things can change in that time. I really expected there to be sparks and all the stereo type things when he finally saw Mia. Unfortunately those dreams did not happen for me, but I did still like it. Even though I didn’t get the experience I really wanted I did like the book.
Now it was a bit different in Where She Went instead of being from Mia’s point of view it was from Adam. It was a bit shocking to see what Adam went through those past few years since him and Mia had gone their separate ways. He was very vulnerable, but in a sense out of control. He had problems with the band, problems with the tabloids and mental problems since Mia left him.  This book was a fun and might I say kinda depressing read for me and was interesting to see what happened in this story, but at times I felt as if I wanted to tell him to stop complaining and making your life worst then what it really is.
Well, I can’t say weither or not there was a happy ending however I can say that the ending was a bit shocking. Everything becomes resolved like it should be at the end of a book and it actually made me a bit proud of Adam and Mia. They did what they thought was best for each other and learned to live with it and in the end overcame everything. Especially Adam he was really a true genuine person. Once you get past the heartbreak and complaining he has at first you get to truly know him in this book and it’s amazing how in the first story we knew what Mia was like, what she was thinking, how she felt about everyone around her and got to be with her through the whole state of shock she was in finding out about her parents, but what makes this book special is because we know all of that about Mia in the first book, but never quite got the same on Adam. Whereas in this book you also find everything out about him and I think that makes this book special.
This was a fun book and lets you get to know the other person in the first story.(Adam) If you liked “If I Stay,” at all you should definitely check this one out and see how it all ends.

Review: Anime\Manga

Hey there again guys\gals,
It's been a while hasn't it. Today is going to be a little different. Since one of my best friends not really introduced me, but told me to watch some anime I have been sucked in and have been using all of my book time to watch anime and read Manga. So instead of slacking on the blog because after all this is a book blog I though I'd talk\write a short review about some of the Manga\Anime I have been watching\reading recently. I also wanted to say that I do have some upcoming reviews -- Shatter Me and Sweet Evil (Blog tour) And once I get out of this Anime addiction habit and can finally read again without thinking of little characters as as the characters in the book ( I try to picture real people when I read haha) there will be a review of A Bad Day for Voodoo, Pushing the Limits and a couple of other things, but as of right now let's get started.

So the first one that my bestfriend,Aimee told me to watch was..

Madoka Magica
(Anime\Manga)
When a new girl joins her class, Madoka Kaname feels she recognizes the mysterious, dark-haired transfer student from one of her dreams...a dream where she is approached by a cat-like creature who offers Madoka an opportunity to change destiny. Madoka had always thought magic was the stuff of fantasy...until she sees the transfer student fighting with the very cat-being from her dream! And just like in Madoka's dream, the cat gives her a choice: Will Madoka become a Puella Magi in exchange for her dearest desire? What will be the cost of having her wish come true?

Thoughts:
Now I was definitely sucked into this one and this was the one that started it all off. I watched this anime and while it was weird it was amazing! I have to say. This anime is very comical, but sad as it goes along because there is a lot of twisting words and deceiving these girls to do these things, but in the end it all ends well I guess you could say. There is friendship in this Anime and a lot of finding out who your friends are. It's also very mysterious.

Okay so the next one I have actually read the first Manga, but I haven't read them all so I ventured off to try and find out if there was anime and there was! :D which made my day, but there are so many episodes! I think there is like 144 of them and they are each 24-25 minutes long. I am only on episode 44, but I will get there eventually : O

 Shugo Chara
(Anime\Manga)
WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE?
Everybody at Seiyo Elementary thinks that stylish and super cool Amu has it all: But nobody knows the real Amu, a shy girl who wishes she had the courage to truly be herself. Changing Amu’s life is going to take more than wishes and dreams–it’s going to take a little magic! One morning, Amu finds a surprise in her bed: three strange little eggs. Each egg contains a Guardian Character, an angel-like being who can give her the power to be someone new. With the help of her Guardian Characters, Amu is about to discover that her true self is even more amazing than she ever dreamed.

Thoughts:
Shugo Chara... Ahh how can I put all the things I want to say into a short review without giving spoilers.! Why must they make the guy characters so... what's the word.... cute\hot. Seriously I never thought I would be crushing over an anime guy character, but than again I crush over guys in YA so why not!? Haha. Well this one is a little childish at times, but never loses intrest you always want to find out what's going to happen and trust me I know this because the first day I started watching this I stayed up really late and then the next day and so on. It is so hard to stop myself from going on to watch the next one because there is always a cliff hanger. Like come on. It's not nice to keep teenagers up that late when school is fixing to start and I'm supposed to be going to bed early-ish. Amu is so indecisive at times on who she likes, but if I was her I would be to. Then there is her gaurdian Characters they are all who she wants to be, but she is trying to find out how can she be all three and who she really wants to be. What is her true self. Everyone at school thinks she's so cool, but really she's a shy girl just like everyone else and she always says things that make her look cool because she gets nervous. Besides Amu there is her sister Ami, Tadase, Yaya, Iktuo and many more other awesome characters. So even though it's long and I am still working on it if you haven't seen it it's worth a try.

The next one Aimee told me to watch was

Squid Girl
(Anime\Manga)
*Now while this is a manga I don't think it'savaliable in the U.S.
Squid Girl, a girl from the sea who possesses squid-like tentacles, vows to invade mankind as revenge for its pollution of the ocean. Her first task is to make the Lemon beach house, owned by the Aizawa siblings, her base of operations. However, when she accidentally breaks a hole in their wall, she is forced to work as a waitress to pay off the damages, although she soon comes to think of them as her friends and vice versa.

 My thoughts:

I watched only the first half of the first episode. I wasn't really fond of it, but I think after I finish Shugo Chara I am going to give it another try. If you like Comical and funny Anime like Aimee you'll like this one because she has been making jokes every since she's seen this one so I'll probably finish it so I can find out what she means.Who knows it might turn out to be great :)

Okay well that's it for these few Anime\Manga. A lot of my friends(and most of my school) are into Anime and I might watch some of the ones they told me to watch if so I'll probably do another one of these that way I have things to post about instead of leaving nothing on the blog.

Have you ever watched Anime or read manga? If so what is your favorite Anime or Manga? If not are you willing to give it a try why\why not? What do you reccomend I watch\read next?
