Discussion: Cover Madness

Hi there again guys, So I've decided to bring back Cover Madness because I really like comparing and hearing your thoughts and I got just that the last time. So, to make it official this will be a new feature on the blog from now on and posted on Sundays.

This week:
Anthem for Jackson Dawes

UK Cover
US Cover

These covers are both amazing. I think this one really is a draw for me because I like both. The UK Looks really pretty with the graphic cover. While, the US Cover looks really good because it includes real people. I honestly don't know which one would make me buy the book more because honestly I would buy either of these books if I saw it.

The Madness Underneath

US Cover
UK Cover

I have to say I hate judging a book by it's cover, but oh my goodness... The UK Cover is not that eye drawing... Honestly it makes me want to run away. While the US cover is pretty and purple. Oh and it fills my wish that all my covers in the series match. I honestly don't know what to say that's nice about the UK version...  Am I being too harsh? Is it just me?

What do you think of the cover's? Which one looks better in your opinion? Do you like this feature?
Feel free to join along and link back here :)

Rules:
  1.  Create a post using my graphic I used or anyone you want to create
  2. Can be any country's cover vs. the US cover.
  3. Explain which one you think is better and why.
  4. Link back here.

Review Pile ( Going Back in Time)

From the Review Pile is a meme hosted by Stepping Out of the Page every Thursday.
The aim of this meme is to showcase books that you've received for review (or if you don't receive review books, any book that you own and really want to read/review) but haven't yet got around to reading, in order to give the book some extra publicity.

I know that a lot of you have a huge pile of books that you want to read/review, but it understandably takes a while to get around to reading them all - here you can give a book (or two!) some of the publicity that it deserves, even if you haven't read it yet!

This is a new feature on this blog and I found it and thought it was quite a good idea :) So for this week I got bombarded with review copies -- I requested some books a while back and just recently. Well, I was accepted for a lot of the ones I requested both times so I have quite a lot. One that I do have to say deserves some publicity is Prisoner B-3087. I am currently on the last chapter of this book and I have to say it is AMAZING!

Prisoner B-3087
Alan Gratz

Summary:

Survive. At any cost.

10 concentration camps.

10 different places where you are starved, tortured, and worked mercilessly.

It's something no one could imagine surviving.

But it is what Yanek Gruener has to face.

As a Jewish boy in 1930s Poland, Yanek is at the mercy of the Nazis who have taken over. Everything he has, and everyone he loves, have been snatched brutally from him. And then Yanek himself is taken prisoner -- his arm tattooed with the words PRISONER B-3087.

He is forced from one nightmarish concentration camp to another, as World War II rages all around him. He encounters evil he could have never imagined, but also sees surprising glimpses of hope amid the horror. He just barely escapes death, only to confront it again seconds later.

Can Yanek make it through the terror without losing his hope, his will -- and, most of all, his sense of who he really is inside?

Discussion: Cover madness

Hey there guys,
Today I thought I'd try doing a similar thing as I've seen done once or twice and thought it looked like a good idea, but instead of U.K. vs. U.S. when I do it it can be U.S. verse any other country. when today searching through netgalley I came across 2 covers for the same book... I discuss below! P.S. I know your not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but honestly guys we all do this at one point or another :)

The Eternity Curse

               US Cover                                                                      Australian Cover

On the left is the U.S. version while on the right is the Australian version.
Honestly I am not quite sure which one is better.!!
Okay so the problem lies here the U.S cover (Though I hate to say it) looks a bit plain while the Australian cover looks bold and interesting because of the colors and the picture. While I like both of them the clear winner for this one would have to be the Australian cover, but hey that's just my opinion!
What do YOU think?! What one is better!?

Another one I have to say I'm interested in is....

Dare You To by Katie McGarry

US cover
Uk Cover

This one to me has be in debate for some people for quite sometime. When I first saw the US cover I was so excited because I am an OCD Freak with my covers matching and they match!!! Then I saw the UK cover honestly I am not really sure what to say about the UK version. I mean, sure the pictures are the same, but the font of the title does make a difference and I think the bold red scares me a way a bit. While, the US version drags me in! I again like them both, but judging the covers by which one would pull me in I would have to say the US Cover.

Enough of my opinion what do YOU think?!?
Tell me in the comment section below and get a discussion going!

Things I Can't Forget
Author:Miranda Kenneally
Series:Hundred Oaks
Pages:320
Publisher:Sourcebooks Fire
Release Date:March 1st,2013
Source: Review Copy received via Netgalley.
Thanks so much Sourcebooks! Merci beaucoup

Summary:

Companion to Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker.

Kate has always been the good girl. Too good, according to some people at school—although they have no idea the guilty secret she carries. But this summer, everything is different…

This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt--with her.

Kate used to think the world was black and white, right and wrong. Turns out, life isn’t that easy…

Ms.Kenneally has captured me in her web after reading the first book in this series. (Catching Jordan) Now, this is the third book and she has not failed to impress me.
This book brings a unique story line to this series. It does that by bringing in conflicts we’ve seen in her past books and ones we’ve yet to see in this series. Another, amazing aspect of this book is that she brings the characters we’ve grown to love back out in this book and their paths intertwine with the new, unique characters. I have to say watching the previous characters fall in love in past books and coming back in this story really shows how strong their relationships have proven to be. I myself know that this makes me so happy because as a reader I always wonder what happens to the characters in the future and seeing them come back just makes my heart pound faster.
As for the new characters, Ms. Kenneally has never failed to bring some amazing characters to the story. Kate, the main character, is a very strong believer in church and following the bible, but because of this she has grown to be very judgmental towards other people who don’t follow the bible and God like she does. Putting that aside for now, she decides to go to camp where a lot of things happen and more unique characters come into her life. Matt is the sweetest guy you will ever meet! Matt is just a very likeable, funny character.  Matt really brought out the best in Kate and seeing them flirt with each other and just have fun was so amazing and sometimes even funny to read about.
Throughout this story, the characters were just were so freaking funny. I’m telling you guys I was dying laughing sometimes. This book will not fail to make you laugh. Don’t even get me started on how hard I am fan girling over Kate and Matt!!!  Don’t get me wrong there is also moments when you want to go straight in that book and slap some of these characters as well. Don’t get me started on two characters, Emily and Andrea. Emily was a total..  let me put this in nice terms she was so mean to Kate. I mean Kate wasn’t the nicest either, but she was there for Emily. I think that Emily was really mean to her, but in the end all best friends have arguments and eventually get over it because you can’t stand to be apart from them. Now Andrea, ugh she was just mean to be mean because she was jealous of Kate!
The ending you guys will shock you to pieces and make your heart pound in awe! I’m not kidding I was like OMG! And I then started laughing. (You’ll see what I’m talking about!)
Let me tell you guys something, this book is amazing and so much more! I loved it times a million. (Not kidding!) I have loved this series since I read the first book and every time I’ve read the next one and I’ve loved it more than the one before because Miranda Kenneally never fails to impress me!

If you haven’t read any of the books in this series I cannot stress enough how much you SHOULD! Miranda Kenneally has done it again stealing my heart and catching the things I can't forget about these books.

Follow Friday (Reading Outside)

 Hi Guys or Gals,

This is my feature and Follow Friday and this is Hosted By Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.

Q:Activity! Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon…so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.

 Answer:

I actually don't read outside... I'm not sure if that's weird or not, but living in the city it is always just too noisy to read outside because I find it distracting. The only time I ever read outside is by the pool at my family's summer home and I find it quite and peaceful.

What was your answer?

March Update

Well hello there guys\gals,
things have been super hectic and still are.

I know I am very sorry that post haven't been produced as much as I would want, but studying is a priority at the moment so I haven't had the time to read many books or write reviews.

I have finally finished most of my projects and started reading again so hopefully this month will be  a productive one than last and I can't wait to start posting again!

I have just started to catch up on all my review books since my absents in reading has left me in a rush to read books I was supposed to read a month ago XD.

I am currently reading Things I can't Forget (Hundred Oaks #3) And I promise you this book will be done tonight! I always read these books in a day because they are so amazing.! (If you haven't checked it out you totally should. )Which means I will have a review up sometime this week :).

Also, Once this blog gets back on the road I will post a new review every week on a Monday and sometimes I will post 2 reviews and if that's the case the second one will be posted on a Thursday.

On the rest of the days of the week I hope to alternate (Every other week) things like Teaser Tuesday, WWW, Stacking the shelves and Follow Fridays!
