Summary:
When your best friend is just a tiny bit psychotic, you should never actually believe him when he says, "Trust me. This is gonna be awesome."

Of course, you probably wouldn't believe a voodoo doll could work either. Or that it could cause someone's leg to blow clean off with one quick prick. But I've seen it. It can happen.

And when there's suddenly a doll of YOU floating around out there—a doll that could be snatched by a Rottweiler and torn to shreds, or a gang of thugs ready to torch it, or any random family of cannibals (really, do you need the danger here spelled out for you?)—well, you know that's just gonna be a really bad day

Review:

This is one of those Laugh out Loud stories you need every once in a while. I can’t tell you how much this was fun to read. I have to admit it got a little boring at times, but there is really always something going on.
Adam, poor Adam. I feel bad for Adam because it doesn’t seem like he’s too bright if you know what I mean. Tyler has the worst experience with voodoo dolls I have to tell you. Poor thing freaks out when his teacher is hurt from a voodoo doll and then he gets one of him. Tyler never gets a break I swear. He chases this doll around the city freaking out because well he doesn’t want to get hurt.
Expected the unexpected in this book. Seriously… Tyler does some really crazy things that is like oh my gosh Tyler why would you do that? Oh and then there’s Kelly; Kelly really reminds me of me. Especially at the beginning she is the teacher’s pet, always asking questions and her reactions are probably dead on what I would have done in the situation, but not so sure I would have tagged along for the ride.(Haha)

To me it was a really light, funny read and really different from anything I’ve read. I’ve heard of voodoo dolls before and what they do, but Strand puts a funny, intense twist on this story and just a good read to get my mind off of all the other genres in YA because you know every once in a while you need to read something different. If you are looking for a fun, light read be sure to check it out :)
