                                                                  Review:

I was wondering my local Wal-Mart and decided to see what books they had. So, I wandered off to the book section and found Nightshade. I had actually looked up the book the night before to see what it was about and I decided to get it . I immediately started reading after I got home.
This book was very different, but in a good way. I got into this book and couldn’t put it down. After the first day I was half way through the pages and there was a lot of pages in this book. The book had me on my toes because its one of those books where you know something’s going to happen, but you don’t know when.
The main character Calla was very confused on how’s on who she wanted to be with, who she should trust, and started to question everything that she’s ever been told to her about her history. There was a problem for me in this book. I loved it, but I just didn’t connect with her as well as I would have liked to. I mean I had a little of a connection. Quite frankly she became annoying at some points in the book; Some of the things she did was very stupid to me. Also, I really like Ren I connected with him more than Shay. I mean Ren was great even though he had the reputation to be somewhat of a jerk he showed a sweet side to Calla and wasn’t sure how to act around her. Shay was a rebellious, curious human for most part of the book and to me he was the bad boy sort of guy of the story. The pack was great! My favorite were the guys of the pack Mason, Nev., & Ansel. They all had a great personality and were funny for most part of the book.
Aside to all of that I loved it. I mean sure there were connection problems, but it was a great story to me and it kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat. Even though I preferred Ren over Shay I still was pondering the question in my head the whole story Ren or Shay it switched constantly since I tried to give Shay a chance. I will definitely be reading the next book. It was a great YA book to read for a change.

Review:The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins

        The Hunger Games

Author: Suzanne Collins
Series:The Hunger Games
Publisher: Scholastic
Pages: 378
Published:October 1,2008

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister Primrose, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before — and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Review:

The Hunger Games WOW! What can you really say? I have mixed emotions on this book. I can’t believe that I’ve never read this book until now. I actually wasn’t playing on reading it <Shame on me > until my friend who doesn’t even read was assigned to read it by one of the teachers at my school and he hates reading. When, he told me I had to read this I knew I had to read it if he liked it and what do you know it really was amazing! It was everything book bloggers had said it was and more.
This book left me guessing about some of these characters when the games begun. The one I was the most concerned with was Peeta. I really didn’t know if he was putting on a show just to have her on his side and kill her or was naturally friendly with her. I mean I was really thinking like Katniss. Oh, that reminds me of little Rue. To be honest just thinking about her makes me want to cry. Katniss treated Rue like her little sister because her sister would be in the same position if Katniss wouldn’t have stepped up. Katniss really was put to the test in this book – She did everything she could to save her life – she lied about her and Peeta, she had somewhat of a strategy and she stayed positive most of the time. When she wanted to give up she thought about her sister and what would she do if she wasn’t there for her. Most of all she promised her sister that she would try her hardest to survive and she stayed true to her little sister’s promise. In the end of the games it came down to not only who wanted to live and die, but who had the better skills and strategy.
At the and we were left with a cliffhanger.  I can’t wait to join Peeta and Katniss in  the next book(Catching Fire) to see what is going to happen now that Peeta is mad at katniss ? What’s going to happen to them now that they disobeyed the capitol? Who will take the blame? Will there be a punishment? Praise Suzanne Collins for writing this amazing book that’s now going to be a movie! How exciting is that?

Review: Lola and The Boy Next Door Stephanie Perkins

Lola and The Boy Next Door
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Series: Single Title
Publisher: Dutton
Pages: 338
R. Date: September 29,2011

Summary (Goodreads)
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Review:
Wow! I am speechless. I thought you couldn't get better than Anna. Well guess what I change my mind, Lola is amazing.

This book is one of those "girlier" YA's I occasionally read. I felt like such a girl when I read this book -- I was laughing and I was shocked and had a little freak out when I saw Anna and St. Claire. OMG! I mean I did not expect them to be in this one at All!

But Wait than there was cricket the sweet, smart, innocent boy that had moved in next door again after his sister switched coaches again. I really no words for Cricket. Every time I think of cricket my inner teen girl comes out and screams HOT! SMART! OMG! Yeah, a little freaky, but everyone has their moments and their fan-boys and He is def. one of mine now.

Now Max was the complete opposite than Cricket I mean he had tattoos was in a band, and was led you on kind of guy.I really wanted to jump inside this book and scream dump him already. Yeah, he was supposably a "good guy" but wasn't buying it at all. Wow, what about Lindsay I mean you can't leave her out. She was the kind of girl I might hang out with .She was smart, a dependable friend, and never turned her back on Lola. Now speaking of Lola, wow what can you say about Lola the minute I started reading I knew she was a little on the "theater" appearance side with the costumes. Sometimes I had to actually stop and look for who these people were and what something was for this dress she was making, but overall she was a fun person.

Now, this book may have topped Anna. Then, again there is 2 different things going on in Anna and Lola it's hard to compare. Where Anna was the new girl making friends trying to fit in and you wind up with this romantic twist on the story. Whereas Lola was very romantic I want to say from the start and is about friendship and a lot more about boys and learning to deal with things. Either way I love them both.!

If you haven't checked out these amazing books by Stephanie Perkins you really should. Anna and the French Kiss & Lola and the Boy Next Door.
